Abstract: A 6 page overview of the varying interactions of African and Asian countries to Western influence. Provides specific examples from Sudan, Gold Coast (Ghana), Kenya, Morocco, Japan, China, Ethiopia, and elsewhere. Emphasizes that these reactions varied from almost total cooperation to armed resistance and were dependent on a number of factors including time period, previous interrelationships, degree of Western penetration, and economics.
