The Cuban Revolution

Abstract: 26 pages in length. The Cuban Revolution was initially waged as a means by which to end General Fulgencio Batista's totalitarian takeover; in it's purest sense, the conflict was a quest to re-establish the Cuban populace with the inherent human rights that had been stripped so many years before. Fidel Castro, a lawyer who was determined to overthrow Batista's autocracy, was initially the hero in America's eyes but ultimately became the enemy when, after he took political control as Prime Minister, he embraced Communism. The writer discusses the nature of revolutions, Batista and Castro as they relate to the Cuban Revolution. Bibliography lists 25 sources.
