Management Theories and Management Style

Abstract: A 5 page overview of traditional management theories and a view of the writer's personal management style, which is the participatory form promoted by Total Quality Management. The speed at which business moves in today's environment and the rate of change that can occur are best served by trusting employees to do their best, combined with continually striving to improve the definition of "best" as it applies to specific individuals. Business was impersonal in the days of autocracy, but today's relies much more heavily on relationships and on having the right people in the right jobs. Bibliography lists 6 sources.
