Abstract: 5 pages in length. When one considers the chimpanzee, the first thing that comes to mind for many is the effort put forth by wildlife observer Jane Goodall. The extent to which Goodall studied wild chimpanzees has provided both the scientific and lay communities with a significantly better understanding of their ecology, as well as a clearer picture of their historical evolution as a species.
