Biometrics

Abstract: A 5 page paper discussing some of the biometric security applications available to organizations. Ranging from avoiding time clock fraud to identifying terror suspects among war zone detainees, most current biometric applications rely on fingerprints to confirm individuals' identities. Some companies already have personal applications in place in Asia and expect to see US cell phones and laptop computers featuring biometric safeguards by the end of 2005. Nearly all of the biometric applications discussed here are based on fingerprints. The next generation likely will focus on a greater number of biometric measures. Bibliography lists 6 sources.
