Abstract: 15 pages in length. The correlation between Lenin and Stalin's regimes represents some significant changes in approach and application of Russian rule. Even in light of Lenin's obvious influence upon the manner in which Stalin led his dictatorial government, there remain many considerations that did not occur as a direct result of Leninist inspiration. The numbers are split as to which leader carries the most blame for the effects of both men's leadership; some consider Stalin the man responsible for the problems experienced by the USSR, while others blame Leninist ideals. Two sides of the same issue exist with one side arguing how Lenin was instrumental to Stalin's regime, while the other contends that Lenin did not guide Stalin. Bibliography lists 13 sources.
