The Illusion of Artistic Freedom in Cuba

Abstract: This 30 page paper examines art in Cuba. The paper supports the notion that art in Cuba is repressed, but it is still suggested that the repression is subtle. Castro's well known speech regarding the arts is noted. A look at Mariel artists shed some light of how life was in Cuba and how art is repressed. Art in Cuba is also discussed decade by decade.Bibliography lists 15 sources.
