Relationship Between the Disposition, Metabolism, Exposure and Excretion of Toxic Chemicals in the Body

Abstract: This 9 page paper explores the manner in which various toxins enter the body and are passed through the body. The author distinguishes between environmental contaminants and drugs, both medicinally administered drugs and illicit drugs, that can be considered toxins. Using the drug phenobarbitone as a specific example, the physiological process through which a toxin travels through the human body is illustrated. Bibliography lists 6 sources.
