Multicultural Education In The United States

Abstract: A 14 page paper. This paper explores recent literature focusing on multicultural education. One issue is exactly what multicultural education is. Another issue of concern is the multicultural competence of teachers. Different authors have discussed the lack of this competence and how teachers might become more competent in this topic. Some approaches towards multicultural education are discussed. In effect, this essay considers what is known about multicultural education in America and what is still not known. The essay ends with comments and recommendations for gaining the knowledge about what is not known. The paper also includes comments specific to the student's needs, such as personal opinions. Bibliography lists 12 sources.
