Abstract: his 8 page paper discusses the theses contained in Udall's book, The Myths of August: A Personal Exploration of Our Tragic Cold War Affair With the Atom. Udall charges the United States Government with secrecy, with beginning the Atomic Age and denying any responsibility for the thousands of Americans harmed as a result of atomic and nuclear testing. He also states that the reasons given for the bombings in Japan were lies. His theses are analyzed in terms of then and now. Bibliography lists 9 sources.
