Fuel Cells

Abstract: An 8 page paper discussing the economics and problems of hydrogen fuel cells as power plants for cars. Jay Leno praises the BMW Hydrogen 7, but the chief engineer of the Chevrolet Volt notes that the hydrogen infrastructure will be easier to implement in China or India, where there is not an extensive gasoline infrastructure. The status of hydrogen fuel cells in 2008 is promising for the future, but they cannot yet provide less dependence on carbon because of the consumption required to produce hydrogen fuel.
