The Need For Regulatory Reform For Agriculture In The South

Abstract: 8 pages in length. As the world looks ahead to ensure the availability of its global food supply, talk of implementing regulatory reform in the South has become more and more pertinent. While a number of regulatory reform acts have been utilized in the past, there still appears to remain a need for even better improvements and stricter control. In order to address the issues of cost, profits and all that falls in between, the southern agricultural industry must become amenable to such policy changes that would ultimately influence how farmers incorporate pesticides, manure storage and disposal, price support programs, marketing orders, land use and subsidized water prices. The writer discusses the need for regulatory reform in relation to the South's agricultural industry. Bibliography lists 5 sources.
