Abstract: A 10 page analysis of John Stephens' nineteenth century classic Incidents of Travel in Yucatan. In 1841, John Stephens and F. Catherwood traveled through Yucatan visiting haciendas and ruins. Together they produced one of the definitive travel accounts of the nineteenth century as well as a great book of archaeological discovery. Bibliography lists 3 sources.
